The City of Duluth is looking for a Water Plant Operator AD@ for an
exciting career opportunity supplying potable water through the City=s
water supply system.  Candidates should have a Minnesota Class AD@ Water
Supply System Operators Certificate with a year of water supply plant
experience and a valid driver's license.  A Minnesota Second Class AC"
boiler operator's license is preferred and must be obtained if hired.

Water/Wastewater Operator

The Pine River Area Sanitary District is looking for a water/wastewater operator to provide skilled work in the operation, maintenance, and repair of the District’s water and wastewater systems. Work involves operation of light equipment as well as performance of manual tasks in maintenance of sewer and water lines and other District property. Responds to after hour emergencies as needed and on an on-call basis.

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED; possession of a valid Minnesota Class D Driver's License or ability to obtain within 6 months; minimum of 6 months experience working directly in water, wastewater, and collection systems; working knowledge of OSHA requirements and safe working practices; general knowledge of desktop and portable computer hardware and software programs and Microsoft products (Office products, Windows XP, Internet and email). Must be able to climb vertical ladders, tolerate heights in excess of 100 feet; tolerate confined spaces; be able to regularly lift 50 pounds and rarely up to 100 pounds.

Desired Qualifications:

Experience working at an activated sludge wastewater plant; Working knowledge of Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems; Water Environment Technologies certificate or equivalent; Class C water operator certification or ability to obtain within 6 months; Class C wastewater operator certification or ability to obtain within 6 months.

Asst. Wastewater Superintendent

 City of New Prague (pop. 7,000) is seeking a MPCA Class “B” Operator to serve as an Asst. Wastewater Supt.  This is a new position that is to be part of the start-up of a new “Class A” Biological Aerated Filter (BAF) Facility coming on-line summer of 2010.  The City is expecting this position to become the WWTP Supt. based on an expected retirement within 3 years. Minimum qualifications include: Gradation from H.S. or GED; MPCA Class “B” WW Operator License; possess a valid MN.
